The Opera Gala night on Saturday 25 July 2009 will feature sinfonia ViVA with special guest Jonathan Ansell.
The programme includes many all-time favourites from Puccini, Donizetti, Tchaikovsky and Bizet.
Jonathan Ansell, star of G4 - the X Factor pop opera group - holds the crown as Britain's most popular and successful young tenor.
His exceptional voice, which combines the virtuosity of his classical training with the power and passion of his interpretation, has thrilled vast audiences, won him countless new fans and made him a huge solo star.
His first solo album, Tenor At The Movies, went straight to No 1 in the classical charts, hit Top 10 in the pop album charts, and made him the youngest ever tenor to top the classical charts.
He released his second album, Forever, in November 2008 with songs ranging from the classical and heroic to the romantic and dramatic.
sinfonia ViVA was founded in 1982 and, as a national orchestra based in the East Midlands, provides classical concerts and outreach activities that make live orchestral music accessible to all.
It has gained national recognition for its integrated approach to concert giving, outreach and audience development, performing in a wide range of venues, from established concert halls to leisure centres.
The Orchestra participates regularly in the main concert series of the region and has a busy schedule of outdoor summer concerts.
Smaller chamber groups from within the Orchestra provide access to classical music for many communities in more rural areas.
Actor Jonathan Kerrigan will also be appearing. He has not only starred in Casualty, in Heartbeat and Merseybeat, he is also a talented musician and composed the Merseybeat theme tune.
