We have a very special programme lined up this year for you. The traditional countdown to the fireworks remains, but this year it will take place on the beach. Eddie Shaw, the well-loved Lincs FM presenter and a Skegness regular, will do the honours.
But this year the countdown will launch the climax of SO 2009. This will be the first ever performance of 'Full Circle' on a beach, a show with music, fire, fireworks and special effects.
The show has been developed by the internationally renowned The World Famous, who provided displays for the Cultural Olympiad show in Dover, with musicians Terrafolk.
It promises to be an unforgettable show telling an exciting story of change through the seasons.
As you make your way from the beach back into the town, you will get your first glimpse of the 2009 illuminations in all their glory. And we're leaving them on until 4am on the first night!
So there's plenty of time, after the spectacular fireshow on the beach, to have a wander in Skegness, take in a drink, catch that late night bite, and generally enjoy yourselves.
